Honestly there isn't much other than suspension stuff that I'm likely to be able to afford for a good while. From my reading it seems bolt ons aren't really helpful for the 4v since they flow so well already. I think I'll just start saving up for a Kenne Bell.

Called them up today. Car still isn't done. The salesman was able to confirm the service people were indeed in the process of fixing the 2nd gear synchro though. They are also providing new headlight assemblies instead of just swapping out mine. That's nice since the reflector in my passenger side headlight has come loose from the assembly. It looks fine but cane be moved around.

He said it should be done by friday. Can't believe I've had to wait two damn weeks. How many shop hours does a 2nd gear synchro take?

The car is finally done! I'm going to pick it up friday.

I do have a question though. Since they replaced the 1-2 synchro at the dealership, do you think they would have done so with the newer improved synchros per the TSB or with the original stuff?

Apparently that TSB also calls for changing the 3-4 synchro, shift forks, blocker rings, etc. Would they even have the original stuff still or would they have to use the new stuff?

They did tell me it turned into a much bigger job than expected, but didn't give any more details.

If a Ford TSB calls for replacing the synchro with a different part then yeah you got the new one.

Hmm. Well that could partially explain why it's taken so long. Sounds like that tsb is almost a full readmission rebuild. Haha

Finally picked it up today. She performed admirably on the 100 mile trip home. Here are my first impressions.

-Driving a lowered car is going to take some getting used to. I've scraped the chin spoiler pretty much every time I've come and gone from my house. I think I may try backing into my driveway. I think the aftermarket suspension is a bit creaky too, but I can deal with that.
-I didn't get on it real hard during the test drive, but I have around town today. The power is amazing compared to the GT even down low. Then again, I suspect it may have gears done. I know machs have 3.55 stock, but it just seems like I'm turning too many more RPMs for that little difference.
-The sound of the engine is completely different despite both having magniflow exhaust. Almost sounds like a jet engine spinning up when I put my foot into it.
-I noticed it does indeed have sequential taillights. I love those.
-Transmission is shifting nicely. So sign of any grinding or anything

I've already performed my first mod on it, raising the gas pedal. It's so much better with the new pedal position, and the mod only cost a dollar or so. I'll get some more pictures of the car this weekend.
