Default Question about Break Pads and Rotors

I have an 02 GT and I am curious what everyone reccomends for good rotors and pads for a good price. im looking at spending 250 no more. maybe less. I saw this Kit, but I dont like that the Pads create a lot of dust, it says anyway.

http://ebcrotors.com/p-235-stage-5-s...brake-kit.aspx

suggestions please?

Thanks,

Tony

I've been using the autozone ceramic pads for some time now with no issue and they seem to perform fine.

Yeah I have been doing that too with Autozone, but thought to try out some Power slotted and/or drilled holes in them.

Break pads might brake, no? LOL.

A lot of people like hawk pads.

Centric 120 series rotors! Best rotors I've used and at a very reasonable price. And they come painted (obviously not the braking surfaces). I'm really happy with my Hawk Ceramic pads but the HPS pads were crap. A cheaper alternative would be the Centric Posi Quiet Ceramic Pads which are pretty good but they don't have quite the same bite as the Hawks.

I have used HAWK HPS pads on several cars and will continue to use them.
Unless the rotors are too thin to be turned, I would not replace them. If they need replaced, just get good solid blank rotors and stay away from slotted and/or drilled rotors.

Flush and replace the brake fluid with new high temp fluid while you are changing pads.

If you aren't planning on doing hard braking on a track, where heat will cause brakes to fail, IE: the fluid reaches its boiling point. You don't need it. This is where cross drilled and slotted come into play, for heat dissipation. As true blue said, don't buy them.

I bought my entire brake set up from Rock Auto, Raybestos ceramic pads, and rotors for 285.00 shipped.

yeah I deff am gong to get the HPS pads. nothingbut good reviews and everyone seems to like it. i still havent got them because i wasnt sure about the rotors. people say to not get the drilled because they can crack, and the slotted are just fine to get, street or drag. I dont get on the track as much. but the slotted makes a good look style for the wheels. i saw some on AM.com
