Dark Smoked Headlights
Hey guys. So my Headlights came in yesterday. I have been reading up on the visibility problems and was wondering what i should get. I also got smoked foglight covers. I have read where people say 55w and around 5000k heads and 35w 5000k fogs. Is this a good setup? and where can i find some good, but cost friendly bulbs? Also i know absolutely nothing about HID conversions. So could someone please explain to me how to do it?
I was also wondering if, until i get my HIDs if at night (which i rarely drive in) or the rain could i just leave my high beams on? Would that do any harm?
Thanks so much again

If you get a plug in HID conversion it's pretty straight foward for the install. The HID bulb basically is a tube filled with gasses that produce light when an electric arc is ran through it usung a ballast. Soyou need both the bulb and ballast.
Are your new headlamps projectors?
I run 60000ks and have no problems at night. anything over 6 you will have less light.
I wouldn't run with the hi beams on because that would **** off other drivers.

I bought smoked headlights for my last mustang, and I could run high beams (stock bulbs) all the time and no one noticed. Then with a HID kit I always got people flashing with just my low beams on. The HID light is a lot different than a halogen bulb, it reflects more intense off road signs and people's windshields... So on coming traffic will get a bad glare from HID light that's not mounted in a projector style lens.
I've probably spent $700+ dollars on multiple light bulb and headlight set ups. Basically if you want good night visibily you need to stick with a headlight that has a clear lens, because tinted lenses kill night visibility.
If you must get a HID kit, they sale multiple kinds on ebay for pretty cheap, complete kit and everything. It's a wiring harness, ballasts, and bulbs. You'll be looking for a "Bi Xenon" kit, with the 9007 bulb application.
If you're looking to spend a pretty penny, there's always retrofitting lol ...
