Default Tire issues

I know this is probably a dumb question, but here it goes. I just purchased a new set of tires for my '03 GT, 255/35/20 front & 275/30/20. I hate my 20's but I didn't have money for a whole new set. My fronts are rubbing bad enough to where it's busting my inner fender wells loose, now Discount won't take them back, I told them I needed 245's, but this is what they had. Is there anything I could do, besides buying new tires? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Your tires are too tall(overall diameter). They are about 34mm taller than stock. Use a tire/wheel calculator. That or your offset is wrong. I have 275's up front on my stang and no rubbing issues and they on 9.5" rims. Is your car lowered?

275 is just the width - it has no comparison to his car rubbing vs what fits your car.

QATIM - Did you order 245/35/20s? If so, they should be fixing this issue for you.

Width DOES matter. Mine are very close to hitting and would if they were any wider.
yes if you ordered 245s they should have changed them for u before you installed them. except if you put them on with some miles they have a right to say no.

I know width has no issue with the rubbing, then going with a 245 wont matter because they are only 1/4 inch narrower. the profile 35 is the issue with 20's,
so if the car is lowered and the tires are taller than stock, rubbing issues will occur

Wheels: Wheel 1 Wheel 2
Tire size 255/35-20 245/35-20
Section width 255 mm (10'') 245 mm (9.6'')
Sidewall 89 mm (3.5'') 86 mm (3.4'')
Tire diameter 686 mm (27'') 680 mm (26.8'')
Circumference 2154 mm (84.8'') 2135 mm (84.1'')

Compare to stock

Tires: Tire 1 tire 2 (stock)
Tire size 255/35-20 245/45-17
Section width 255 mm (10'') 245 mm (9.6'')
Sidewall 89 mm (3.5'') 110 mm (4.3'')
Tire diameter 686 mm (27'') 652 mm (25.7'')
34 mm (5%) shorter.
Circumference 2154 mm (84.8'') 2047 mm (80.6'')

Yes, it's lowered, I have coilovers on it (UPR). Can I just raise it?

I'd try that to avoid additional damage. Gonna look pretty bad I think.. I feel your financial pain, but in the name of all that is holy and good, put those 20's up for sale/trade and get 18's or smaller ASAP, Godd luck man.
