Default Replacement headlights - where to buy

I bought some tinted replacement lights for my 2001 GT from American Muscle and I noticed once they were installed the rubber seal that covers the gap b/w the headlight and the body were inconsistent at the front edge. AM sent some replacements and they are just as crappy. Has anyone found replacement headlights or have any idea where I can get just a replacement seal? This is one of the first mods I've made to the car and I'm pretty disappointed.

I ran into the same problem when I was trying to retrofit my own headlights. I never found a replacement for them. Auto parts stores and even home depo carried similar trim, but none I found would fit right. That would be your best bet, check around for universal weather trim. Heat up and tear off the old trim, glue on something similar you find. That was my plan, but never found the right trim. And it looks really stupid to put them in without the trim at all...

Just buy real Ford OEM headlights.

These guys have been selling OEM Ford and FRPP parts at employee cost (10% over cost) for years. I'm not sure if they sponsor MF, but I know they sponsor SVTPerformamce.com.

Thanks for the feedback all. I'll checkout the OEM stuff, I was wondering if the headlight replacements from Late Model Restoration or other aftermarket places would have a better quality option than the OEM cost stuff. Guess you get what you pay for though.

part of the problem is your chassis, hood, fenders, etc twisting and shifting over time, not to mention any prior accidents, if any. even with real ford replacements, they are unlikely to sit flush like the original ones on your car.

The seal itself is defective. Once I knew what the problem area is you could see it without even putting it on the car.
