Default Used car questions

okay so I'm pretty low on cash( 3300) after selling my 300zx and am looking for a new car. i found a nearby '00 GT black, with 150k on it but it seems the engines running strong, shifts well although the clutch is pretty stiff in comparison to the 300zx and my buddys Z06. I was wondering if theres anything i should look for in the car before i buy( not very familiar with mustangs) and what you think the cars worth. BTW sorry if theres already a thread for things like this but its my first time on the forum.

Look for any leaks, and engine hesitation, smoke out the tail pipes, stalling, RPM surging...basically all the stuff you would check on any used vehicle. Make sure it wasn't involved in any accidents also. Any aftermarket parts on it is a bonus. Check for play in the steering wheel. Test drive it with the music off and the windows up...listen and feel for any peculiar noises or shaking. Then listen with the windows down. Also, check to see if the heat, AC, radio, wipers, defrost, all accessories are working. Open the hood and look at the pulleys, the belt, makes sure there are no wires cut and spliced or anything rigged together and help by duct tape, rope, zip ties (lol), etc. Drive it for a few minutes, then shut it off, start it back up and drive it again for another few minutes...this is a good way to check and see if any codes were cleared before you drove it. And go through the gears manually. Make sure the shifting is not sluggish. Some Fords do have torque converter shudder tho. I would avoid the car if that happens because it gets annoying. And take a look at the fluids. While you're driving, make sure the gauges read normal. Good luck.

150k is nothing on these cars. Every one I have owned had over 150K and none gave me an issue. The clutch is a big difference from a Z06 or 300zx, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

The only real issues that these cars can have is intake cracks and timing chain guides going bad. So check the coolant level and listen for a rattle at cold start.
