Default Paint on Valve Covers

I know painting valve covers has been covered, but I more so have a question regarding the paint/process I plan to use.

My car is competition orange (Saleen replica with silver decals), so I'm wanting orange with silver stripes. Of course I'd like to use all high temp paint, but the only orange I've been able to find is Chevy Orange. I don't know how well it would match plus.... its Chevy. Kidding, I don't hate.

Anyways, an idea I had was to use high temp primer, high temp silver base coat (for stripes), factory matching competition orange paint (not high temp obviously), and high temp clear. Think the orange would be okay "sandwiched" between all that high temp paint? I mean I'm sure the valve covers probably get to about the operating temperature of the engine. My hood has vents but I doubt that provides real significant cooling.

Going to pick up a spare set of valve covers tonight I found on craigslist for a steal! Just going to paint them and swap when I'm done so I have less down time. They look even better than mine now, so big plus!

I have...
Not that I'm trying to do this "on the cheap", but its something I'd like to do myself. I do know you can buy your own powder, but I also don't have an oven to use other than the one in the kitchen!
I don't have much invested in these covers, so if I paint them and after a while they don't hold up, I can sand them back down I guess.
I've painted a few things in my days, but I don't know much about all the different properties of different paints. That's why I was curious if anyone could shed any light on this "sandwiching" technique as it relates to the temperatures the valve covers will likely see.
