Default Need guidance to purchase mufflers

I have a 1999 GT 4.6. I want to replace the original mufflers with aftermarket ones. Recently, I have learned that all mufflers are not the same. Some quiet and others louder. My originals are very quiet when idle at a stop light. When I hit the gas, they roar. This is exactly what I want for the replacement ones. A local muffler shop suggested Magnaflow instead of Flowmaster. What do you guys think?

Thank you!

Patrick

Go you youtube, type in "1999 Mustang GT (name of muffler or catback system you want to hear)".

We can all go on endlessly about what I or the guy who posted above and below me likes or doesn't like, but none of that means you'll feel the same way. Go to youtube, listen to exhaust clips, make a decision. Good luck!

If you have youtube hooked up to a decent sound system, I would recommend using it. On a computer or phone, they all sound the same. On a Smart TV with a good surround system, you can hear the differences a lot better.
