I've taken off the shifter and filled the transmission a few times before but this time I want to try and just pump the fluid into the fill hole because I don't feel like messing around with the old gasket crap and removing extra screws/bolts etc.
Do you guys use a generic pump that attaches to the top of a quart bottle, or have any other particular device to help with filling the transmission? Will not be using a lift so just jack stands.

The plastic fluid pumps will handle about four quarts after that they start to come apart it's a tad thick for them to handle. I found one at harbor freight a while back and it had a metal case and has held up well. I even use it on the diff with the super thick gear oil. I'll see if I can find a link for you.

When I do mine I just connect the lines coming from the transmission to my cooler and start the engine and then let it pump old fluid out and then I hook up my little hand-held pump to individual quarts and pump it back in.
It's a gigantic pain in the ***. I'm considering getting a different dipstick with a larger hole an electric pump so I have to do it all over again.
