Default Battery Replacement now alarm won't shut off

I replaced the battery in my '03 Mustang GT and now the alarm won't shut off. In the past, I have been able to put the key in the ignition and start it and it would shut it off. I have tried all the recommended steps online like lock and unlock manually with the key or lock and unlock with the key fob but nothing will shut it off. Car still starts and runs fine. What can I try next?

It turns out that after cycling the key nearly 30 times, something finally took. The car sat in storage with a dad battery for a month or so and I'm guessing it took awhile for it to take. I hate these kind of "fixes" where you can't really put your finger on what solved the problem but nonetheless, it is working now. I'm still gonna wait a day until I put the fuse back in for the horn.

In case it happens again sometimes the alarm in my 2005 f150 won’t stop unless I put the key in the door and lock/unlock it.
