04 Mustang GT Rear Brake Squeak

04 Mustang GT Rear Brake Squeak
Ok so about 2 months ago I replaced my rear brake pads and rotors myself (did not put in the brake hardware). Now I'm not sure if it's normal for the rear rotors to already be a little rusty while the front looks newer than the rears. Anyways I changed them out in hopes of not hearing any squeaks, but whenever I'm braking at really slow speeds it squeaks pretty loud and don't squeak when I brake harder. Anybody have an idea of what could be the issue?

well, that's not an S197 body... but calipers are calipers.
Mine are more rusty on the back too.. I had to replace both calipers as one slider pin on both was rusted solid..so no rear brakes for the 1st 9 months of ownership.
The pads on the rear should have metal springs as shown in the link below. They basically tension the pad against the caliper so it doesn't squeak. It's possible one of those springs is broken, or not seated properly.
Easy check is take off rear wheel, undo slider pin bolts and the top portion of the caliper will come off and you can see the pads just sitting there. Reverse for reinstall.
Copper grease on the rears of the pads MIGHT help, but I think the springs are there to quell vibration.
