Default new radiator

Hello, 96 G.T. Replaced my radiator with aftermarket from advanced auto. New hoses, cap, Thermostat, coolant. Install went good. Car runs great, electric fan comes on. . I think I have all the air out ? Funny thing. After driving, Say, 10 minutes ish. The temp gauge slowly goes up to very high, and the same with the oil pressure goes to very high ? Everything is a normal cycle. Then It just starts going up. Yes I don't know ?

The temp gauge issue does sound like it could be an air pocket, but given that you're getting questionable readings from more than one gauge, you might be better off confirming actual water temp and oil pressure first. Couldn't hurt to give the upper radiator hose a squeeze though, to listen for coolant sloshing around inside. Has the coolant level dropped enough to need topping off again?

Well. I really can't find anything that seems to be wrong ? I'm pretty sure there's no air in the system. No coolant loss. I did a compression check last summer and had solid numbers and oil looks good. I'm going with the water pump is 20 years old . Bought a 50 dollar duralast pump at auto zone. It's worth my sanity and peace of mind to throw it on this weekend. Stranger things have happened.

With the engine running, and hot, repeatedly squeeze and release the upper radiator hose.
Do the bottom one as well, to try and move the air pocket out should that be the case...

You can also run the car with the cap off the expansion tank, put the heater on full blast out the dash
vents. Then bring the engine rpm's run the engine at 1500 rpm's or so and let it burp the air out; add
coolant as needed. When you feel strong steady heat out the vents top it off and put the cap back on.

Hello, Well I changed the water pump. all I know is I had a chirping sound from the water pump area ? With the new one on and car elevated. I got bubbles from radiator . Never had those with old one ? Chirping sound is gone. The old pump looked good and function good . No obvious sigh of failure ? Still have to tie up some loose ends. Seems to cycle fine at this time ? Yes I don't know and thank you for helping out. I will be working the hose to get air out. Over and out.
