13.9 is all?Our track just closed before i bought my 05 so i can't get a baseline, but damn,in 85% humidity, and an unprepped track,my good buddy's 94 vette LT1 auto with 2:59 gears runs 13.9 all day long.My c5 ran really low 13's on the same track, this GT feels a little slower, but i was thinking it felt like mid 13's.Damn,i'm going to have to add some power soon...theres alot of imports over here that are mid 13's..

I have seen two stock stangs run 13.56 and 13.53 at englishtown this spring on stock 17" tires. They were both sticks and were cranking out times between 13.5X and 13.7 all night. It was a nice cool dry spring evening.

Someone else I talked to showed me a timeslip for a 13.6 run.

Tires are the issue here. Launching at anything higher than 2K and change and the tires turn into goo.

With slicks or drag radials and a custom tune and intake, I have heard of a couple guys in the high 12's. Like 12.8. Street tires like 13.1-13.3.

I just did the brenspeed intake and tune. Havent run the car at the track yet but my butt meter tells me that if the car runs like 13.6 stock. It is damn close to 13 now. And at this point, she is very traction limited.

I want more traction on my daily races...... I mean drives, I'm not going to drive daily on MT's but would putting more rubber on my rims take care of the problem, like 275/40/17's on the back?

I think it's more a rubber compound thing than a width thing. Not all rubber is created equal in the traction department. Tires that grip don't last long on the street.

Why not buy two rims and two drag radial, just swap them when you want to go to the track?

KDWS-2. great wet/dry traction. not snow. but you'd have your stock Pirellis lyin around for that more than inclimate weather. the kdws hook very nicely, just turn em a bit before you run. dont roast em or water em. just enough to dust off and remove any gravel. lowers your times a bit, and with 4.10's, shouldnt be a problem.

Thats what I'm looking for. Thanks. I do have my stock rims lying around that I can switch up when needed too.
