Some shops charge as low as 200-250 for install but make sure it is a reputable shop that has experience with rear ends. If you go to the dealer they might charge you up to $700 and still do a crappy install. Ask around your area and find out who's really good.

I'm 57 and I haven't been without a high performance car of some sort since I bought my '64 Galaxie 500 XL, 390 Tri Power four speed in 1967.

My Ford dealer does a full rear-end re-build for $419.00 on any 8.8, they charge a little more for a 9" rear-end. They quote five hours to do the whole job on a disc brake equipped Mustang. That includes both rebuilding the limited slip carrier and setting up ring-and-pinion.
They have a few drive-train techs that are seriously in to racing Fords. They have done two gears for me and they were both perfect.
Not all dealer mechanics are hacks. You can get it cheaper for sure but be carefule that they have done 8.8 Fords enough to know what they are doing.
