Engine Breakin and Road Trip

Engine Breakin and Road Trip
My new '06 has 560-miles on it now. I'm getting ready to drive to Chicago which is about 420-miles away. The owner's manual is pretty vague about the breaking, saying only don't drive for long periods at the same speed for long periods of time. My question is, does that mean 5, 10, 15, 30-minutes? How much speed variation should I be trying for? 5 to 10 mph? Appreciate any thoughts on this.
Thanks,

You should have no problems, the first 500 miles are the most critical for break-in. Right after I got 500 miles on mine, I drove it to 800+ miles at 70-90mph. Doesn't use a drop of oil!
Have a safe trip.

I just used it as an excuse to check out the "passing" lane and then slow down for no appearent reason and then pass again
People might look at you like you are insane, but hey you are doing it for your engine... Can't be helped
FWIW - I agree - after 500 miles the damage is done and for the most part you can drive normal - out of paranoia I drove nicer than normail up until 1K and then progressed slowly to my usual driving style...
