New clutch break in necessary.

Default New clutch break in necessary.

may be in the wrong place just ordered first stang, does the new clutch need to be treated gently? or can i jump right on it? someone told me to be easy for about 200 miles

Don't worry about the clutch - worry about the engine/trans/rear. If you take care of them, the clutch will do just fine...

Be nice to it for a little while - mileage opinions vary from 500 to 2000 miles - there are some comments in the owner's manual.

Well I burnt mine for about 2 seconds today. I went to shift into second and obviously didn't fully let out the clutch before stomping on the gas and the damn clutch pedal wouldn't come up. That is a smell I don't ever want to experience again!

Definitely not the way to break-in a clutch

Back in the days before cell phones, I had a trans jam in 3rd... Got home - in 3rd...

Needless to say the clutch was as done as the trans after that and +100 on the smell...
