Default 4.10 gear install a bust

The car was dropped off on Tuesday night, "Sh*t happnes" happened Wednesday, Thursday and today so no gear installed for me. Kinda wondering if it wasn't fate stepping in to say wrong place to get it done at. They want me to bring it in again next week for the same thing, not sure I feel like dropping it off constantly waiting for my small job to get equal time with higher paying customers.

They said a computer broke in one car, I can understand this, but how does that dominate the entire day? They don't have a lift so maybe it takes a lot longer for them to do. I have to give this a lot of thought this weekend and determine if I really want these guys wrenching on my car, they didn't know the new '05 and newer 3V's were aluminum engines, he is working on one that's iron but it wasn't from a Mustang soooo I digress...

What to do....

Find someone else to do the job. Sounds like they don't know our cars to well you might end up with a lot whine in your gears if you have problems you might get stuck with a noisy car and wished you went some where else.

A shop with NO Lift should be the first sign to stay away.

To be honest I care more about them knowing the 8.8 rear end than I do the 3V for this job and the 8.8 has been around a long time. I won't be having them do any engine work, that seems to be the best conclusion.

Which sucks becase they are 3 miles or so away and a lot of people recommended them.

Not sure I agree, it's a red flag, that's true but that doesn't mean they don't know what they're doing. In this case, regarding the 3V, I would have to say no, they don't seem to and I would prabably be considered generous for saying it that nicely.

Dropping my car off moday morning to get mine installed. I'm driving an hour and a half to get this done so hopefully they'll take care of me. The shop is pretty reputable in the region for cranking out stangs.Protec perfromance in Lubbock, TX.

Agreed, will find a new location for the gears. Now, where in the NW Suburbs of Chicago can I get this done. Man, if this were a Chevy I'd have choices up the wazoo.
