Default 3.73 3.90 or 4.10 gears ??????????

iv got a 2005 mustang gt 4.6 auto box i wana get new gears but just dont knw witch one to go for ?
what are the differences between them ?

iv got other mods done as well

bbk ceramic short headers
magnaflow x pipe with racing cats
magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust System
bbk 62mm twin throttle body
moto blue pulley kit
Max MicroTuner

4.10s, .75 5th gear, .62 5th gear, 27" tall tire, you will be around 3k at 80 mph, but these are modular motors not pushrods

I wouldn't get the 3.90s. They are very prone to noise (whine), which presumably is why Ford doesn't make a set.

3.73s are the most commonly recommended for Auto GTs.

See the responses (including mine) under the topic "3.73 Gear Question." You have your '05 set up very similar to mine. I think you'll find the 3.73 gears are the perfect combination for your automatic - greatly improved acceleration while still maintaining good highway manners and mileage.

I think that was my post (3.73 gear question)...Yes, go with the 3.73 as you will not be disappointed. Nice acceleration, 2500RPM at 75 and no noise.

why not have the extra 200 rpms for 4.10s? these are modular motors, not pushrods, they are very happily revving
