Do yourself a favor and get the C&L and one of the "popular" tunes. Trying to save money on this upgrade can turn into a mess. Doug at http://www.bamachips.com/ is available by phone and will walk you through all then in's and outs and will take the time to explain all this "stuff" to newbies.

+1 and brent @ www.brenspeed.com has supplied me with a few additional tunes at no charge. Very satisfied with their service.

ORIGINAL: CrazyAl

ren is right, you definatley need the tune.

More HP requires more gas. And guess where more gas comes from? Yep, the tune.

You will have to buy your own tuner. The reason is that the tuners lock themselves to the car's VIN when used. You can't use a tuner on a new car until you reset the prior car to the original OEM tune, so only one car can be tuned at a time. The tuner manufacturers do this on purpose to sell more tuners.

Anyway, I highly recommend getting a tuner from one of the well-known shops such as Brenspeed (my favorite), Evolution, or Bamachips. When you buy a tuner from one of them you are getting a lot more than just the handheld "box". You're also getting the EXPERTISE of the people at the company, who are the ones that will provide you with teh best tunes. If you buy a tuner used or from a discount vendor like Summit Racing, you will probably end up with a crappy generic tune. Guys like Brent @ Brenspeed will give you a tune specifically for your car and what mods you've got. Plus, they'll be there for future support when you get new mods.
