Default Steeda UDP's

Is everyone that has them happy with the Steeda Underdrive Pulleys?

Are there any dangers that I should know about before getting them? What can they screw up... is it likely?

Is there a tune needed?

Are they worth the money?

Thanks for the replies!

I'm running the Steedas also. I have noticed a slight drop in A/C performance, but it has been very minor and I am willing to deal with it. I doubt most people would notice this, but I was monitoring the temperature of the cold air with a thermomometer, and around town in stop-and-go traffic it's a few degrees warmer.

No tune is needed.

No special tools other than the puller are needed, but an air impact wrench makes removing the stock crank bolt easier. Search recent threads for more info about all this.

Just ordered mine. Steeda has them for 209.00 or something. I'ev searched the board and cannot find posts relating to the install, etc....

Am looking at just needing the conventional harmonic balancer puller like you'd get a sears, etc? Obviously by title I am a SB chevy guy... so thinking this is going to be pretty easy.

If someone can posts links to threads about steeda UDP install, specs, reviews, I'd appreciate it.

Oh btw...Flowmasters just installed and Granatelli CAI on the way, Steeda STB....along w/ some other billet do-dads.

You can't use the "Standard" harmonic balancer puller. You need the chrysler type.

Here's a thread about it: https://mustangforums.com/m_2086135/tm.htm

Thanks for the update. When Steeda put the pullies on sale the first time, I convinced myself it's not worth it. Although no one really has had issues with the pullies... Thanks for the heads up. I think I'm going to bite the bullet!

Finished my install.

Very striaght forward with the exception that I am not a big fan of the puller. It seemed to want to twist / slip under torque. Fiddled with that for awhile before finally getting the damn balancer off. Other than that, very happy with the product.

For others doing the job a couple words of advice:

- An impact gun is NOT necessary to do the job. A breaker bar with a cheater bar (galvanized steel pipe) worked just fine.

- For manuals, be sure you motor is in 5th gear to prevent the engine from turning over.

- Do yourself a BIG favor and remove the electric fan / shroud. A total of four 8mm nuts and harness later and its out. Don't bother disconnecting the PS and radiator overflow resvoirs, simpy unbolt and move the side . No need to drain.
