Good Cheap Mod

Good Cheap Mod
Picked up my 07 GT yesterday w/ a 140A pkg. Switching from my moded out 04 GT the first thing I missed was the SOUND!!!! Momma not liking the thought of me spending any more money before Xmas I got an idea?. She bought an 06 GT about a month ago during that 0% interest and such deal Ford was handing out and she bought new JBA mufflers leaving us yet another unwanted exh. system to put on the shelf. Now the mod- I took her old/new mufflers, cut the tops off them(sawsall, dremel w/ fiber cutting disc, metal screws and some stainless steel bonding paste)(the s/s paste is like JB weld but better) and gutted them out.(found major restriction). All the baffling weighed about 5lbs. per muffler and now my stang sounds way better then I thought it would w/ this cheap exh. mod.(I actually thought I was going to laugh at how gross, nasty, and junky it would sound and would end up putting the other mufflers back on). It sounds better then the wifes JBA mufflers, no resinating, no howl sound, and no drone w/ a sweet 60's muscle sound. I dought everybody iis going to run out and start cutting up their mufflers but, for 2hrs. time and 30.00 bucks in stainless steel liquid weld you can increase air flow and inproof sound big time.

RE: Good Cheap Mod
I'll work on the sound clip, and I know it sounds like it would suck sound wise. But i'm 46 and have had alot of muscle cars though out the years and it sounds good. The SLP axle back on my friends 05 is loud and it is just really removing the mufflers and putting pipes on it. This is the same but like putting on prochambers.

LOL WE NEED A SOUND CLIP!!!!!!!!! Post a sound clip if you can because your idea of good sound may differ from my opinion of good sound.

Yea, but that would be kind of pointless to gut the mufflers. MA motoworks sells "muffler eliminatiors". They look like straight pipe but are shaped so they have a nice sound. No muffler involved just clamp/weld it to straight pipe from the backend and your done. No hacking, sawing, cutting, ect....
