First time mustang buyer
I just bought a 2001 GT. Never owned any kind of Domestic car. Is it normal when after I shift into gear, it makes a clanking kind of sound? Sounds kind of like Im in the wrong gear but doesnt feel like it. If not, why does it do that? Thanks.

ACchinkinaMustang you are posting in the wrong area of this fourm, this is the 2005-2007 S197 section. Take the car to a tranny shop and let them test drive the car they shoulden't charge you and maybe let you know what the sound is. Noises are hard to diog over the net.

It could just be you are engaging the clutch back in too quickly, if not get it checked out. I always give it some gas before I completely engage the clutch between shifts.
