Default Is a dyno really necessary???

I ordered the CAI and Tune from brenspeed and have read a couple of posts from people who put their car on a dyno and found problems with AF ratios. I dont have good access to a dyno down here in New Orleans so do I need to dyno the car after the upgrade or can I trust that the tune is correct. Is there another way to make sure everything is ok with the car besides the dyno.[sm=feedback.gif]

going from a brenspeed tune to a dyno tune, i gained 17hp and 19lbs ft. tq. i'd say that it's worth it.

There are wideband meters you can get, but pricey. But they data log and you can watch you A/F ratios. Plus with the logging, you can send it back to brenspeed so he can make better adjustments. I know he has one called Innovate LM-1 and there is also the Dynojet one.

I've read many other post that a dyno tune gained them 2-3 h.p. that the e-mailed tune was right on. Each car is a little different just like peoples expriences with there tuning with a dyno.

The CAI and tune are pretty good mail order.
Its when you start adding things like CMCV Delete Plates, Off road pipes, Headers, etc..
That I would at least dyno it with A/F logging..

Exactly. The big guys like Brenspeed and Evo do extremely well with common bolt-ons like CAI. Once you get more mods or more exotic mods (like cams or ported heads) then you need to start looking for a dyno tune.

If you don't mind driving the 2 hours to Mobile Al. There is an awesome tuner there. I drove there from Nashville to have him tune for my cams. Pm me if you want info on him.
