RE: Exhaust, help !! want HP, not noise
Your going to get the best gains with a system that has no restriction
ie: LTs/ No Cats/ No Muffler
This of course will be pretty loud. Glass packs probably would be the best way to get noise down without introducing any resistive.

I would have to agree with hawgman. Most of your power will come from the longtubes (15-20 HP?), then midpipe change (5-10 HP?), then the muffler (1-2 HP?)
Everyone seems to agree that aftermarket mufflers don't add much horsepower, and although going catless would maybe give him an extra 5 horses over high flow cats, it would also make the car much, much louder, which he doesn't seem to want.
If he doesn't want it too loud, he is better off keeping his stock mufflers (or some other relatively quiet aftermarket muffler) and going with high flow cats on the midpipe (I would recommenda catted Prochamber, they are supposed to be quieter than H's), along with whatever longtubes he wants.
