For me the GT is perfect for mod's. Geting a Roush, Saleen, GT-500 doesn't hold the mod's factor like the GT does. I can setup the car the way I want it. Appearance and performance in all aspects is all up to me. Leaving it alone is fine too just not my cup o' tea.

I modded the crap out of my 95 GT the amost 5 years i owned it. Also bought a 2003 Lightning and told myself that it had enough power andto leave it alone since it had a warranty...A month later it had a smaller blower pulley, ngk plugs, tranny valve mod with deep tranny pan, K&N CAI, boost bypass kit, a 4lb lower pulley sitting in the garage that i didn't get to install. then got a saleen that i modded, now the 05 mustang GT that i wanted to keep stock till the warranty ran out....yeah right. once your bitten by the horsepower bug, it won't stop. Also it's fun to do.

Designer cars are great for metro-sexuals, but they are virtual confessions that the driver couldn't change a spark plug to save his life.

I like the new mustang but have issues with the following:

1. Car sits too high - So, I installed an Eibach Pro System Plus suspension, Metco Billet LCA's, BMR panhard bar and camber bolts.
2. Exhaust - I initially eplaced the stock mufflers with a pair of MACs (too loud) / I then replaced the MACs with a pair of Borla's (perfect)
3. Rear Spoiler - I HATE the stock pedestal spoiler. I plan on replacing it with the GT500 ducktail spoiler
4. Stock Hood - I think the stock hood is BORING. Although I would love to replace it with a ram-air hood, I have decided to spice it up with a pair of painted stripes on the car.
5. Air Intake - I plan on installing a Cold Air Intake and custom tune.

+1 to going faster....the throttle lag takes the fun out of the car. 93 Oct tune and CAI and you will have a completely new.

The difference between them is ridiculous. I couldn't go back to driving one without, it would be like driving a freaking escort or something!
What is this throttle lag I keep reading about? No matter what gear I'm in... as soon as I hit the sweet spot(3K rpm)the car takes off like a rocket. And I mean, pin you back in your seat type of take off.

Remember though... I've only had the car for 1 week. What am I missing?

It is more common with an automatic. From what most people say in the auto when you get on it there is hesitation before it starts taking off. Not long, but not like with a mechanical throttle. The drive-by-wire adjusts differently. with a stick it is alot less prenounced to the point you might not even notice. I noticed that in any gear it would react quicker reguardless of what RPM you are at.
