LEAVING THE GT STOCK

RE: LEAVING THE GT STOCK
+1 to going faster....the throttle lag takes the fun out of the car. 93 Oct tune and CAI and you will have a completely new.
The difference between them is ridiculous. I couldn't go back to driving one without, it would be like driving a freaking escort or something!

I was just making the point that the car is near perfect the way it is!! Also maybe if I drove one of the many tuned cars I might change my mind?

Some people just can't leave things alone and have to tweak everything they get. I too suffer from this problem. I customize or modify almost everything I own so that it's the way I like it. The only things I won't touch are antiques and things that have been handed down in my family. Oh, and one of my pistols - but it came from a custom shop.

RE: LEAVING THE GT STOCK
i bought a mustang specifically for that purpose. my car had 59 miles on it's first pass at the track.....i broke it in when i left the dealer in case you're wondering[sm=gears.gif]now a year and a half later it's got 9K miles on it and a lot is 1/4 mile runs.
racing is in my blood...it's worse than drugs. it's not a hobby but an obcession(spelling?). everything i've done fro college to career has been to allow me to race. two jobs sometimes three extrajust for racing. of course the main paycheck goes straight to my wife for bills and mortgage but the rest is mine to play with. if i wasn't playing with a car of some sort i'd probably be a crackhead or a drunk by now. it seemssome of my friends found that path....and the path to jail.
i never sacrifices that in any way will hurt my family.
i just love doing this stuff....most of all i love winning.

RE: LEAVING THE GT STOCK
I tried. I tried sooo hard to leave it stock. I don't know jack squat about cars, but you're lookin at a guy who's computer has caught on fire TWICE in the last six months because I can't keep just leave my cpu and video card at stock clock speeds...(btw, its kinda scary when you hear a pop and a fizz and smell acrid smoke before you can hit the circuit breaker four feet away from my desk). Of course, now I run it with the case open, just in case.
I just got a 93octane tune from Diablosport, then quickly got new wheels and some better tires. Now I'm trimming my food budget to afford a CAI, driveshaft, UDP's, about $2000 worth of suspension stuff and several appearance mods. I may even have to cut back my beer and scotch budget next. Maybe I'd be better off just getting hooked on drugs...probably cheaper and I won't get in 'as much' trouble with the law...
Edit: I'm just joking spyder...I didn't see your post before I posted. I'm not really trying to equate my car with a serious drug addiction
