Default Long Tube Headers

I have a 2006 naturally aspirated GT. Stock exhaust with recently installed Borla 11752 axle-back mufflers (not the stingers). I am thinking of installing either the Kooks or American Racing Long-Tube Headers with Hi-flo cat x-pipes. Has anyone heard this setup? Will my car sound louder or experience drone? Will I need to re-tune?

I have the Kooks with GTA’s which are similar to your Borla’s and they sound great. You will not have any drone if you don’t have any now but the sound level will be a little louder and deeper.

I have Stainless Works and they are great. From what I have read from others, Kooks are great to. Here are my mods and there is a video clip here with my first start up with the new headers. you will need a tune to get the most out of them. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2460665/1
Take Care

Thanks guys. Also, I want to keep my H-pipes for that deep throaty sound. I don't want the exotic raspy sound that x-pipes are known for. Unfortunately, it seems that all the Long-tube header / hi-flow cat settups come with X-pipes for the extra horsepower. I am more concerned about the sound and I am willing to sacrifice a few horse to keep the sound I am looking for.

Yeah, the only company that seems to carry long tubes with an H-pipe is JBA, all the rest have X-pipes. You can also get Macs with a Prochamber, which is also like an H-pipe, but I hear those headers are actually only mid-length headers and won't get you the same performance gains as the true long tubes. So if you want the H-pipe sound, JBA it is, unless you do some custom fabrication.
