Is there something wrong with SEARCH?

Am I the only one having problems using the search function. Basically no matter what I search for, it tells me there are no matches. I'm trying to search headers (hopefully to find something about installing longtubes), but I can't get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

This is a very common problem on this forum...it's not just you.

I don't know for sure, but I think the problem is related to server load. If you try to search during a time when a lot of people are using the forum you get that problem. But if you search at 2AM or something like that it works fine. I think the real problem is that the search times out and the program thinks there are no hits instead. Just try it again later and it should work eventually.

RE: Is there something wrong with SEARCH?

I think this is the biggest mustang forum, with that comes the millions of posts....the search is going through all of them. I would say its just having to search through so much that it is causing the problems. I know the moderators and whoever have been working to make the site quicker but it is no small task. When you have 1000 threads on the same topic over and over it probably does help. But we will still see many of the same questions asked over and over so there is not much we can do. I try to get people to use the search as much as possible on many topics, once they use it and start finding the info they need they will go to that instead of starting new posts all the time. Just my 2 cents.
