Why Not A Cobra?

Why Not A Cobra?
Looking at the cost of installing a supercharger, we wonder why not just trade in the 2007 GT for a Cobra? What are the advantages of an aftermarket supercharger? I know that a big one is the Cobra only comes with a manual transmission. All this assumes that I can get a Cobra for list price.

RE: Why Not A Cobra?
If the Cobra is older....you loose on all the improvements to chassis and susspension from the new s197 body style.
A S/C on a 07 GT or better yet a Turbo or TT setup would be Cobra Trouble much cheaper..... (heck do cams and internals and be boost happy)....the only downside is S/C messing your GT warranty or S/C covered under warranty........(so long as you leave with factory settings...)....
I am sure Insurance costs may vary as well.....

I meant the 2007 GT500, sorry. It is starting to look like they are selling for list. Here in SoCal the dealers have them on the lots. They must not be selling at big mark ups anymore, or the dealers are holding out for top dollar.

RE: Why Not A Cobra?
Even if you could get a GT500 for list price, it would be far less expensive to take a standard GT and supercharge it. The GT500's sticker price is certainly a lot better than the crazy dealer markup some people were paying, but it's still not as good a deal as buying a standard GT and modifying it. Then again, the GT500 would hold its value better.

I have heard that some dealers are warrantying the FRPP/Whipple SC, and honoring the warranty on the car as well, if the dealer installs the SC.
Then again, I don't give a squid about the factory warranty anyway, but some people obviously do.

RE: Why Not A Cobra?
I would definately take a GT500 over my 400+rwhp(when usingmy 100shot)GT if I could get one at sticker in blue with silver stripes but I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
Anyway they are around 45k and with 6k you can already be at 800rwhp. JMO and the dam thing looks badass with springs and some new rims and drag radials.
