Default Throttle body's? or shelby tb(spyder kit)

How much did the shelby throttle body cost? Are the aftermarket ones worth buying, a few people has told me not to mess with them because they don't always work right. I have noticed that a few people on her got em but im really not sure, whats you view on em?

They are not worthwhile unless you have major internal engine mods such as ported heads or new cams, and all the supporting things like LT headers and CMCP deletes already. If you don't have those mods the throttle body is worth no extra HP.

Also note that the throttle bodies are notorious for causing various problems. Do a forum search, you can read many horror stories about how installing anew TB caused all manner of problems. They were also the most commonly mentioned item in the recent "what was the worst mod you ever did" thread.

i'd have to agree that the aftermarkett/b's aren't reliable. i have a shelby t/b ready to install(once i get my tune worked out for the ported manifold) which from what i'm told works well but again isn't worth much power. then again it's only like $150 from fordalso you'll need to get a spacer and do a little port matching or just buy the kit from JDM and be done with it. i think i have about$165 total in it so if it is only worth 5 hp i'm okay with it as long as it drives decent. stick with the ford oem stuff and it should work fine.

Thanks for the info. I'm kinda lost on my next mod, i really want to buy some wheels but I can't get a answer out of anyone. I would really like to know if 15x9 or 15x10 and 15x3.5 weld draglites would bolt right up or if i would need to buy spacers? I would also like to know how much bogart d-10's (16x9r and 15x4f) cost and are there any special modifications ill need to get the bogarts to fit? And what backspacing should i go with?

With the Welds you have to find the discontinued XP models or do a lot grinding on the brake calipers on the rear. The Bogarts will fit if you just tell them they are for a 05+ Mustang but they are track only and not street drivable if you were planning that.

i saw in summit racing's catalog that weld has a 17" skinny front and 17x9 rear specifically for our cars also. i love my bogarts i just wish i could use them all the time. it sucks removing those beautiful wheels and going back to the bullitts. i gotta figure something out. maybe i'll change my brakes then i can run a normal wheel.

Why can't you run the bogarst all the time? Where did you buy them and how much did they cost?
