No need to drop engine. Does help to jack engine up and remove motor mounts for easier access but no need to drop engine. I used the dynatech supermaxx system with catted x-pipe. Perfect fit. Did use a lift and had a buddy but only took around 4 hours to install

i usedmy lift at work and i didnt even take out the motor mounts. the only things i removed from my car was the steering shaft and my drviers side engine torque limiter. not a hard job at all... with a lift.

I don't think you're going to have enough room with just the ramps. I did my Kooks in the garage on jack stands and put the car up as high as I was comfortable with and it' still a tight fit under there. Had enough room to work, but with only the ramps it would have been a biotch...
