05 GT
Well guys, I kept my 01 GT and got an 05 GT. And since I'm quite new I figured I would ask a couple of questions in this section. My car has axle backs already, so not really worried about sound yet, but is the C&L intake and SCT tune a pretty decent mod to get? And with the intake and SCT tune what octane gas do I need to run? Man it feels like I just started getting into Stangs because I dont know sh*t about modding a 3v, LOL.

I personally like the AEM Brute force induction with the SCT 2 tuner. I had Brent from Brenspeed tune mine with 89,93,and 93 with NOS tunes. Very pleased with there work. The tuner will really wake up your pony, from acceleration to shifting points and your rev limiter. Well worth the money!

Yes the c&l with a tune from breenspeed is good ofr about 25+rwhp. the x-cal is the main building block for mods to come. You car will feel like a diff. car all together. Throtle response, pull, ect. Well worth the money. I would go with the 93 octane tune but you get three when you buy so it dont matter.

RE: 05 GT
Thanks guys. I seen the C&L intake with SCT tune is about $600, so that might be the first mods, especially since it wakes the car up so much. What can the redline be raised too? A 6000rpm redline is already decent, but if you can go more what can you go up to without blowing the engine? Like I said I'm totally new at modding the 3v's so I might be asking stupid questions. Thanks

When you get the tune and cai from brenspeed, they raise it to 6800rpms, though i don't recommend going there. redline is suppose to be 6250, though looking at the gauges, it looks like 6000rpms. i personally wouldn't take it past 6500rpms. The CAI will wake it up and the tuner will work out the bugs and add a few more ponies, the most ponies will be from the CAI. I had the Airraid CAI, same match to the Roush CAI, you can leave the MVT in it and you don't have to get a tuner or take the MVT out and buy a tuner. With my CAI with the MVT and then a tuner with the MVT still installed, with it out it was to much air flow, like 95mm, i felt a little difference, better throttle response so it's mostly the CAI. After that, i would get gears. Good luck with it and come home safe.
Also before nitrous, i switch from 87 to 91 to 93 octane and really didn't feel a difference, it's probably some more HP from 87 to 93 but not enough to feel in the seat of your pants.

Ihad JBA installa Steeda CAI with SCT tune, underdrive pulleys and charge motion plates (IMRC delete) on my 07 GTa couple of months ago and got 312 WRHP and 328 WRTQ onJBA's dyno (that is with no exhaust work). Idid thesuspensionat the same time and today Iswapedout the 3.55's for a Ford Racing 4.10 gear set.I am looking forward to high 12'son drag radials. Here in California the highest octane available is 91, so that is what I hadJBA tune to. If 93 is available in your area, do a 93 octane tune.

RE: 05 GT
93 octane tune is great and lower the rev limiter to 6400 RPMs to be safe. I can't see you feeling the difference that 2-5 HP at 6800 RPMs and possibly damaging the motor. I personally never go over 6000 RPMs. I leave the high RPMs for the 4 bangers with turbos and NOS. All in all I guess high RPMs don't destory motors its poor tuning and denotation that destroys them!
