Default RE: 3.73 Rear

I've got the 4.10s plus I went to a 40 series tire in the rear, from a factory 55 series so I'm shorter than 4.10 when it's all said and done. 80 mph is 2750 rpm, not too bad, not even with the o/rx and flo's...p.s. I'm MT...

with a 5 speed i probably would of gone with even 4.30s, you will loose like 2-3 mpg depending on how you drive

your rear should read something like
3 31 LS or 3 55 LS

if this is directed at me, actually I swapped to a 40 series DR off of a 55 series factory pirelli so all told I'm pretty close to 4.30 if not right at it.
...if not directed at me, nvm

p.s. with my current mods I still have quite a bit of gear left at the top of the track...maybe not enough for s/c but a decent nitrous shot at least...

The gear ratios in the automatic are different from the manual. That means the RPM of an automatic with 3.73:1 is very close to a manual with 4.10:1. That's why everyone says 3.73 auto and 4.10 manual.

My car is somewhere around 2,500 rpm at highway speeds.

If you need any other information just use the search function.

+1, I revsomewhere between 2400 and 2500 @80MPH. When I had 4.10's, that number was close to 3000 rpm. Long trips on the highway is the reason I changed to 3.73's. I'm happy with them. (for now).

One last question. Do gears void warranty or can the dealer not even tell they've been changed.
