Default RE: NEW 07 GT Sluggish Acceleration

If one drives the S197 like a grandmother, then it will run sluggishly. If one runs it aggressively, then it will run aggressively. That's because the tune has an "adaptive learning" algorithm programmed into it, which stores timing and A/F ratios into the ECU's long term memory, and the values of thesestored timing and A/F parameters depend on how the car is driven.

If you've been driving your car conservatively, then see if this helps:
1- Remove the battery's negative cable for 15 minutes, and reconnect it.This wipes out the long term timing and A/F values from the ECU's long term memory.
2- Turn the ignition key to the ON position so that the dashboard lights come on, and thechime sounds(DO NOT start the engine).
3- When the chiming stops, press the gas pedal to the floor in a smooth motion while counting 1001-1002-1003.
4- When the gas pedal touches the floor, release it quickly.
5- Wait 6 seconds, turn the key to the OFF position, wait 6 more seconds, and repeat steps 2-5two more times. This recalibrates the gas pedal and the throttle body.

Note that while these steps may help the car respond better, they will still not eliminate the throttle lag completely. Only a modified tune willeliminate it(Well, 90% of it anyway).

I think its a gear thing. The 07's came with 3.31's. When I test drove one it felt like a dog to me,very sluggish and cheesy. Kind of likea v6.I then test drove an 06gt with the 3.55's and felt way more like the way it should. That was the only difference.
