Before onbaord electronics, the A/C unit would turn off at WOT via a vacuum switch connected to the intake manifold.

don't think so since 1. the a/c shuts off at WOT 2. if the a/c didn't shut off at WOT, the hp loss due to the a/c running > gain caused by colder air and 3. CAI/tuner kits are readily available for these cars...

I SURE AS HELL RUN THE AC ALL THE WAY TILL I STAGE. its way to dam hot in the summer i start cooking in there.
