Default Exhaust Choice

Looking to add an axl back exhaust. I'm looking for one that's not too loud, but sounds really throaty. The only one I've heard in person so far is the flowmaster on the dealers 06 GT. I thought it sounded really good. I'll be doing more mods in the future, but for now exhaust and CAI will be it.

Do a search. There's a thread that has almost every combination of exhaust sound clips and a great write-up. I'd try to find it but I'm at work and am stealing a second... or 486.

Yeah, I'm at work too. Typing and looking over my shoulder for my boss at the same time!

I'm sure everyone that replies is going to tell you their set-up is the best. Having said that, I installed MAC axle-backs 2 weeks ago and absoulutely love them. Very "throaty" on my otherwise stock set up and the "drone" thatI was fearing never materialized. Do your homework, listen to soundclips, and then take the plunge. If you don't like your first choice, you can always take 'em off, sell 'em, and try again.

I was thinking the same thing.

And if you do get the GTA's, don't be irratated at first. When I first put them on, I was thinking they were not exactly what I was hoping for. But after a 2 weeks of driving, they got better. I have had mine on for quite awhile now. And they are even better sounding. Not too loud while cruising it, but the throaty sound is awesome. Perfect for me.

Pwny posted the link to the thread you needto listen through. I will say that if you don't want it to be that loud, don't get the SLP Loudmouths. I LOVE mine but I like it loud also. With the high flow cats and X pipe mine got even louder and long tubes are next for the exhaust. That's something else you might think about if you plan on doing more to the exhaust later.

Not to sound stupid, but what are FRPP GTA's? Is that Ford Racing Parts or something?

Yes, they have FRPP M-5230-GTA
Made by Supreme. If my memory is correct
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8839

And they have FRPP M-5230-5GT*
These are Borla Stingers but with Ford Racing stamped on them. Much louder than the GTA's.
