Maybe I am crazy but I revved to 7500 the other day while running it hard on the street, not on purpose I can assure you, but the car seemed to be okay with it...What is supposed to be the rev limit on our motor? I almost always shift before that, but didn't happen to do it this time...My guess is that my car has been tuned before I bought it and the rev limiter has been turned off...

6250 is stock limiter...most tunes bump that to 6800ish

Well I have felt limiters before and it definitely seems like the computer is letting the car rev as far as it wants too...could my car have gears higher than stock and maybe it was never recalibrated? I know it can affect the speedo, but what about the tachometer?

You can over rev it during a shift but it will kick in if you are just accelerating without shifting and knock the RPMs down
