Vortech Q's

I am looking into SCs and am looking at some different options. I have an 07 manual with 4.10s. Looking for a lower boost level to stay 430 and down.1main concern, besides the ever present bang for my buck, I live in an emmisions county so i need to be able to pass NC emmisions.

I am looking at Brenspeeds vortech package or thier stage 2-3 saleen. 1600 dollar price difference, saleen is ofcourse a better sc. but with the 4.10s and 1 piecer i plan on getting i think i would be ok with the non intercooled centri. But Brenspeed cannot tell me about emmisions testing.
They think the saleen has a carb #, so it should be good. However they do not know about the Vortech which is what i am kinda leaning towards.

So does anyone have any experience with a vortech package on an s197 GT, likes or dislikes, and if it passes emmisions it would be great to know

Complete systems are 50-state smog legal under CARB EO# D-213-25.

Get the non-cooled Vortech system from them, I had it and it's great. I still run the Vortech blower but now added a Paxton intercooler.

Pay off the guy doing the emissions test.

Yeah, was gonna say that vortech list it as emissions legal. Now the tunning could make a different story tho--rich tuning could mean a failed sniffer test, as well as any o/r midpipe. Knowing the tester makes a difference too;)

Thanks guys, i dunno what happened to me. I guess i had been staring at this thing (my comp.)to much today. I should have just looked myself. Been doing to much work for school here lately. I graduate with a BSBA in 3 weeks, so its crunch time right before exams.

The vortech is great!. I've had mine for 10K + miles now and no problems!.. You may get a better deal from my buddy at Extreme Mustang. 818 883 8836 and speak with Sean. tell him chris from B&M referred you. He does alot of Vortech stuff and all their special projects when they get backed up. Quote him your best price and I'm sure he will beat it!

I also have been looking at this kit. I'm pretty much starting to think that the extra $1500 for the saleen kit isn't really worth it unless you have the money.

I just bought the HO Procharger, installed, with an A-pillar tri-pod for the gauges (boost, fuel, and a little do-hicky [it measures HP,1/4 mile times, stopping times and all that kind of stuff])and a dyno-tune for exactly $6k.
Since I have an auto, I am having a custom Stall Torque Converter built, with a new, larger aluminum pan for another grand.
By mid-December, I should be having me some fun!:)
