"Personally I think all Mustangs should be convertibles and there should be no coupes, like the REAL Cobra has no coupes.. It just doesn't make sense for a car like this to have a hard top. Only the V-6 s should have hard tops."
Good idea, lol

Has anyone in here running over 400 rwhp had mechanical problems with the stock auto? I have not had any problems with mine at 22K miles, but I'm only about 360 rwhp (never been dyno'd).

I'm trying to get an idea how much power these stock autos can take.

yes my 5R55s blew up after 3500 miles at 10 PSI.
TC and 3rd gear both were toast.

Sounds about right. From what I'm reading, you need to stay under 10 PSI on a stock 5R55S. Weak links are the input shaft and 3rd gear.

I'm was thinking of upgrading my 6 PSI pulley to the 8 PSI pulley with a custom tune and CAI. That will put me in pretty close to the limit for this automatic, if what I'm reading is true.

I may just stay where I am at, because I don't feel like replacing a transmission.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I think this needs to be discussed as part of the decision to go with an auto or manual.

I like the auto, by the way.
