LTS vs shorties
So at first i didnt plan on gettin headers due to the lenghty install process but now im thinkin i may. Ive already got the pypes catless H and was debatin keep that and get a set of shorties or just go all out and sell that and go with the LT headers. Just wondering if LTs are worth the extra money and hassle of swappin out the Hpipe? I mean obvi the LTS produece more HP but how much more usually over Shorties?

RE: LTS vs shorties
with just the headers in question, the LT's will get 10-12 more hp w/ na engine. the shorties hp increase is negligable. if you are going to get headers its more worth it to get LT's, but it does cost more. the hp increase doesnt seem like much, but if you do plan on going FI later its worth it.

Look into BBK headers. I have a set myself and I paid 800 bucks for LT and h pipe. Not bad in my mind. Besides headers can be installed in a day. All it takes is 2 screwjacks and (most importantly) a lift. my brother did mine for me and it took him about 4 hours. nice b-day present I think.

RE: LTS vs shorties
Looking back I paid a little too much for my LT headers, X pipe, and install, now they are alot more reasonable. Look at the Hooker set, I think you can retain the factory cats with that set-up, or get a modular X/H pipe so you can remove cats when racing, they did not have those when I got mine so I am stuck with cats all the time, as far as hp/tq, dyno proven 10-12 rwhp/rwtq is correct, so as far as bang for the buck its ok, you get more from the CAI and tune but you probably already have that done, if you want to go turbo DO NOT GET LTs , I am getting a blower soon so I got the larger primaries (1 3/4"), if you plan on staying N/A get a 1 5/8" set. One last thing if you plan on lowering the car at some point do some research, I lost a good inch or two of gound clearance with the SLP set, I am not going to lower the car but even if I wanted to I don't think I could !!! lol
