STEEDA INTAKE ELBOW ISSUE

RE: STEEDA INTAKE ELBOW ISSUE
I've noticed that the clamp that attaches the elbow to the long blue gasket tends to loosen on time on my Steeda Intake. My solution was to simply purchase a second clamp for each side. I haven't had any problems with the clamp on the aluminum MAF housing, but I added in anyway just to be sure..
I tighten each clamp until it is snug once a month when I check my fluids, tire pressure, etc.

Could the Gates Power Clamp be a solution?

RE: STEEDA INTAKE ELBOW ISSUE
Ok, this thread inspired me. I was thinking, if I put the screws on both sides of the tube, then the clamping force should be more even. Here's my new solution.
I also checked out the Amsoil No-Oil Filter you see in the photo. The intake looks very clean inside. Although, there is a little black, looks to be carbon on the inside of the blue gasket.
The seal is VERY tight. I took off all of the hose clamps and couldn't seperate the gasket from the plastic intake, so I inspected it through the inlet.
By the way? Is it common for a little carbon to accumulate inside the intake?
Oh, and your intake might be OK. I overtightened mine first and bent it like yours. It bent back just fine. I was using a socket wrench to tighten clamps...that was a mistake. I now use a screwdriver designed to use removable bits with a 5/16 inch socket to tighten these. It works great.
