3.55 gears with Whipple Is that good enough?
I am curious if the stock 3.55 gears are best suited for the Whipple HO. or should I consider going 3.73's, 3.90's or even 4.10's??
It is a weekend cruiser for my wife and me but want to enjoy it to the fullest on local roads, as well as the interstate.
What are your opinions?
Especially from you already SC guys. As well as your own experiences with this subject.
Thanks.

I think the 3.73 is the best all-around perfomance gear to have for the street or racing.
You should get the Whipple first and see how you like the 3.55 gear though before changing ratios. Many are running 4.10 gears that will bring your RPMs up a little higher also.

+1, I am getting my blower installed soon and I am sticking to the 3.55's.
With a TS blower you are making alot of power down low so you dont need as much gear.
Now if you had a centrifugal blower or turbo I would say to get 3.73s or 4.10s to help you get in your powerband faster.
To me 3.55's should be perfect for a twin screw. I will let you know if I change my mind once its installed though.

Like someone else said, I would get the blower first and then see where you are. I had the gears done before my supercharger and 3.73's are the max I would go under FI. I'm just glad I didn't go any higher.

Do all 2005 Mustang GT have 3:55 gears as stock and also is the Posi (t-Lock) standand too. I'm looking to do a 7.5 swap to an 8.8 ,my car is automatic. Are the GT automatics and manuals gear ratio's different?
