Anyone have a good source for a takeoff or rebuilt Tremec for the S197? Less than a grand?
I am planning to rebuild mine over the race season and need one to drop in shortly (so I'll have to eat the core charge).

Dude I have heard that once you get into the replacing mode of transmission, you might as well get a good one. Our stock 5 speeds are not bad but they connot be compared to a T56. you might as well go the extra mile now and get a good transmission rather than replace the same one over and over. Dont screw yourself andjust replace your old one.Just research this forum and these brothersWILL NOT steer you wrong because they have made the same mistakes themselves.

I have to retain the stock transmission for one of the classes I am running..otherwise I would swap for a 6-speed.
