Default Dyno tune vs. Canned tune...difference?

I don't know if this was coverd before, but i'd like to know if it is worth it to have my car dyno tuned. I've got the Diablo tune on it now. How much of a difference would one see?

Thanks

You can never go wrong with better tunes. However, my understanding is that you would want a dyno tune with more serious mods such as forced induction applications because that stuff can get pricey.

If you have a good tuner close to you I am sure they could find some more power from a dyno tuned car. if it is a Mustang Dynothey wouldbe able to put aloadon the car and get a tune that would be better driveability and power for the street

Can't address the canned Diablo tune but the tunes from tuners such as Brenspeed, Bama, Evo and etc. are pretty spot on when it comes to power. Unless you are doing a supercharger or turbo, I don't think the extra money on the dyno will net you enough extra power to warrant it.

Hey Blue. Check my earlier post on this very issue (Stock vs. Diablo vs. Custom) https://mustangforums.com/m_4590096/tm.htm. I had this very question and found my answer from BamaChips.

+1
I had the same experience, except with Bama's 93 octane tune and a C&L CAI.
I also agree with the others.....getting a N/A S197 dynoed does notgive enough "bang for the buck".

BEWARE: CANNED TUNE does NOT equal CUSTOM TUNE!!!

I was corrected of this by Brenspeed...

Dyno tune is better than custom tune is better than canned tune.

I went from a canned Diablosport tune to a Bamachips race tune an There was a pretty big difference. If all you've got is some simple boltons, I would highly recommend spending the $75 for a Bamachips race tune.

I say Bamachips because you have a Diablosport tuner.

BamaChips tunes are now $50 each or a package of three for $115. Good deal if you ask me.
