Questions about TB and Cams before S/C
Hey, just wanted some opinions about some future mods. After the approval of the wife, I'm glad to announce thatafter we receiveourtax return, I have about $1000 for play money. With that, I thought of getting the 62mm BBK throttle body and the no springs required cams (all from Brenspeed). Also, as soon as I finish payin off my credit card, I am going to buy the paxton novi 2200 intercooled package from brenspeed.
Now, my question is...is the cams a good idea? I know the TB will help, but is it worth it to buy cams? The purpose was for a bit more horsepower without bumping the boost on the S/C and for a rougher idle, I like the sound of a rough idle.
Currently, my only mods are:
-SLP Loudmouth Exhaust
-C&L CAI w/Brenspeed SCT 93 Tune (I know this is gone when I get the S/C, I'll probably sell it on ebay)
-Hurst Short-Throw Shifter
If you can think of something better that would help me, I should have about $750-800 left after the TB roughly. I'm open to all suggestions.

You need to do some research on throttle bodies. BBK throttle bodies are a bad idea in these cars. They do not give any power gains to speak of and cause many drivability issues.
No-spring cams will not match up well with a forced induction application, so if you want a blower skip those cams.
You should buy gears or save for your blower. The money you spend on cams will buy very little horsepower.

I Agree with zkiller. To get max. benefits from cam, Im getting my heads machined, ported and polished withCrowler stage 2 cam set up. RPM outlet has better prices than Brenspeed on cams. I do like Brenspeed, dont get me wrong. But I like to save a buck when I can.

There would be nothing to gain from both cams and throttle body. You really should just save your money for a supercharger and a forged bottom end. Also you should upgrade your clutch once you get over 400 horses.

From what I have read there is nothing to be had from cams or a TB at this point (N/A). You gotta be pushing close to 600 horses (I've heard) to warrant the TBupgrade. Alot of people stay with the stock cams even if they are pushing 600 horses. Cams won't give you alotthey are expensive and require alot of tuning. Tuning can also get expensive quick especially if you dyno tune your car.You really should save your money for a F/I application. After that would be a forged bottom end.
And yes rustic many people recommend a Spec 2, they say it chatters alot at first but goes away after 1k miles or so.
