Roush vs. C&L Cold Air Intake

Roush vs. C&L Cold Air Intake
First off about my car. I have a 2005 Roush Sport with a Roush short throw shifter.
Now to the question at hand. I am going to get a Cold Air Intake and have narrowed down my choices to the Roush or the C&L Street.I am sure I wont find too many people who have used both, but what I would like is to hear peoples experiences with each if possible. I am interested in keeping the Roush name on my after market parts if possible, but not if I will be leaving a bunch of horsepower on the table. I am also interested in which tuner you used with your CAI. I seem to keep seeing the Diablo Predatorand the SCT XCalibrator 2. Are these pretty similar as in just a personal preference? Or is one going to give me more power than the other? I appreciate any help of experiences.

The majority of the power will come from the tune and not the CAI. Most of the CAI's are fairly equal in power gains. I would more focus on who you go with for the tunes as opposed to the CAI. I used to have the C&L and it was very simple to install and had no issues. I can't answer to the Roush but my assumption would be that it's pretty similar.
I'm a big Brenspeed fan but Bama, VMP and some others are good as well. I have no experience with Diablo but really the tune file is what is important for the power gains and not the handheld. Check with your tuner first as some do not support both....Brenspeed uses Xcal only for example.

I use the C&L with Diablosport. I picked the Diablo because I have a local tuner that tunes them. I also chose the C&L because they recommended it. I would prefer to have the Ford Racing model but do not want to pay the price for one because I do not want the Tuner that comes with them all.

i believe the roush is almost the same as the airaid cai, and it doesn't require a tune. i have the roush installed and am using a tune with my diablo predator. no complaints! but there are DEFINATELY more guys on here with the c&l, and i have heard lots of great feedback on them, and more tunes support the c&l specifically.... .....hope i could help

Might as well get the roush to match the car. Or just buy an airaid, which is cheaper. Roush just buys em and puts their name on it. If you want better performance and gains, go with the c&l.

I installed this last week. It was a snap to install. It took me longer to install the MRT hood struts than it did to put the CAI on. The first thing I notice is that under power it makes this growling sound. Its great! Can't really feel a ton of difference in the power, but I expect that will come with the re-tune. I have not yet received the tuner from Brenspeed, but I should have it by tomorrow or Wednesday. I will report back after I do the re-flash.
