Default Driveshaft shatters?

Someone told me this about the stock driveshaft. Is this BS?

The two piece stock driveshaft is a pile of ****. Supercharged, it can BREAK IN HALF on launches if you get traction and ruin the entire underbody of your car, break the tranny case in half, and shatter your crank.

I guess you read some of the forum stuff about driveshaft weighing about 43 pounds. and that they are really not good for the 450 + rear wheel hp applications. but like howarmat said anything can happen. theres a guy on here that show his driveshaft blow on a video... and peices go flying everywhere and it sounded pretty sick. he was wide open on the dyno.
Most people investing in mods and a SC get a better driveshaft. but ford still uses it there stock + car applications.. your choice......

I don't know, but I have the stock driveshaft and the whipple HO. I haven't had a problem. Your crank shattering sounds a little far fetched.

Throw some loops on there if you need piece of mind. That's all I got but a new DS is planned.

I haven't heard of anyone snapping the GT two piece shaft under 500rwhp. The biggest problem with the stock driveshaft is that it is heavy and soaks up a fair amount of horsepower and torque before it reaches the rear wheels.

Thanks guys just wanted to run it by the BS detectors here. I'll probably pick up a driveshaft eventually but I want the blower first.

You should be fine if you are under 500rwhp.
