Considering a Supercharger or Turbo for 2008 GT
Yes, this is another one of those threads. Basiclly I'm looking for more power off the line and somehtign that will not make my car undriveable for almost daily use. I drive it 1 day a week and weekends for around 150 - 200 miles a week.
I have read a lot of posts, visited a lot of sites but I'm not sure what will work best for my car which is a 2008, seems there's a lot out there for 2005 -06 and more for 07 then for 2008.
Is the 2008 that different?
Any advice?
My budget really will be $5500 and I'm going to do this before or during the summer.

Supercharger all the way! It depends on what type of power your looking for. Around 350 rwhp is a fun car to drive and can be accomplished thru bolt on and gears and good tires. For 400 rwhpyour going to need a supercharger. I beleive Vortec, Saleen, Pro charger and maybe a Whipple might be within or around your budget. All good chargers but my choice would be the Whipple. For hold onto your pants Z06 killer 450 + rwhp go for a Kenne bell or Whipple HO. They are great chargers and capable of big numbers. The fact that you only drive it one day a week does not matter. It is how fast you want to go that one day a week you have to decide on. Good luck hope that helps.

There aren't really any bad choices when it comes to adding Forced Induction to you car. All of the systems out there do it from one degree or another. Just depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. Keep in mind that one thing always leads to another; more hp means better suspension; means better tires; mean etc........

I have a Whipple HO so that is all I will comment on. It is on my DD and I have had 0 problems. It really is easy to drive in the rain, you just have to be careful. No WOT no boost. When you want to get on it, it makes great power from 1800rpms - 6000rpms. It has been 100% reliable for 3000 miles and counting.
Basically every kit out there would work but I liked the look, fit and finish, and completeness of the whipple kit.
