A saying to remember for us married guys,

a lot of it depends on how hard you drive it. i used to have a '77 w/ a 302 making maybe 210 hp,and i blew the trans bc i would drive it ***** to the wall all the time. i havent taken my car to the track yet, and plan to take it there not that often, so i think my engine/tranny should last at least 3 more yrs, clutch will go out sooner. but as things break i will upgrade w/ better parts, thats just the name of the game.

I'm in the process of convincing her to let me put a 6 point cage in. So far she's not budging.
Do you have a juicy life insurance with her as beneficiary?

When I did discuss this things with my wife in the past when I raced the fox she never argued about safety improvements, she was actually in favor of them.

With this car, I chose to do my thing as I could and not telling.

BTW, I will be installing my turbo kit soon, got a TR-6060 and clutch, I don't do drag racing, so I should be tranny/rearend covered. Starting the saving process for a 298 shortblock!
