Mod I see you have a built auto....I am planning to build up an S197 this summer. I looked into a 4r70w....there is also a 4r70e...some say they are the same?, they both have two and 3 bolt starter options...some are listed as 2wd others 4wd....which option is best for a daily driver supercharged 450hp weekend warrior? I would like to get a tired one and have a local guy build it. What do you recommend for upgrades? Ford claims a stock 4r70w is good for 700hp...Does it matter if I use an e or a w? I assume shift kits and locks are available for both types? Forgive my ignorance but Im an old school 289 C4/C6 guy.

zKiller do you know what upgrades are recommended? I m looking to build the motor up over time to drag race, maybe up to 550hp, but still daily drive the car...thx

I have a91 fox body with a Lentech AOD and I did a lot of tranny research on this site for my fox body project. They can answer all your questions on internal transmission upgrade parts and ideas.
